Love letter

Write a love letter to your writing. Try it. Remember why you love writing. As a brain-storming exercise or a creative research method for self-exploration, consider what a love letter can do for you.
In glitter and crayons and stickers - roses are red, violets are blue, writing, I love you!

I love the early mornings when flow works. And the late evenings with last stops on the page.

I love the stationary and pages and paper. I love the keyboards and screens. I love the scratch of the pen on the digital screen.

I love the recognition and realization - It is me, getting words on the page or screen.

As a gift, dear writing, I can give you my time. I can also learn to love the nitty-gritty. The details and the big ideas. The balance between the everyday and the romance.

Dear writing, we have been together for years. Do you remember my essay in grade four that I failed? I have had to start anew many times in our relationship. Start again to love the big and the small in the writing.

As I grow, I am learning to look for love and look for courage. I am writing for love.
